Daniel Laryea,Who is widely known to be Ghana’s elite referee with highest international match officiating has received huge accolades from the Ghana Football Association’s president, Kurt Okraku.

The top rated Ghanaian official was among 22 referees and assistants awarded FIFA badges for 2025.
He began officiating at just 17 in Ghana’s lower-division leagues and made his Ghana Premier League debut in a match between Medeama SC and Berekum Chelsea FC.
The GFA boss touted his credential and improvement on the African continent.
“On the whole, every member of this group has done a good job. I want to take this opportunity to congratulate Daniel (Laryea) for all that you have done for your good self and for Ghana: And to all of you who have been officiating on the continent, I have not had any negative reportage on your performances.” President Kurt E.S Okraku said.
His career has seen him officiate at numerous international tournaments, including the 2017 CAF U-17 Cup of Nations in Gabon, the 2018 WAFU Cup of Nations in Ghana, and the 2018 and 2020 CHAN tournaments held in Morocco and Cameroon, respectively.
He was also one of the referees at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
Laryea’s accomplishments include officiating the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League in Morocco and serving as Assistant Video Assistant Referee (AVAR) in the final.
He also played key roles during the rescheduled 2022 Africa Nations Championship in Algeria, including AVAR duties for the opening and final matches.
He is a CAF Elite Referee who combines both centre duty and the VAR.
