Saudi Pro League Side, Al Qadsiy, Signs Jerry Afriyie With A Loan Lease To CD Lugo

Ghanaian prodigy, Jerry Afriyieh has completed a signing deal from Thoughts FC in the Ghana division 2 league to Saudi Pro league side Al Qadsiy which he will join CD Lugo in the Spanish 3rd league.

Afriyie has been an instrumental player in Ghana’s junior national team (U-21) as he won best player and top scorer in the WAFU ZONE B tournament in Togo.

Attaining a higher height in his career as a promising talent, He was invited by Coach Otto Addo into the national team ( Black Stars) during the 2025 AFCON Qualifiers and he scored on his debut.

In a groundbreaking achievement, Afriyie became the first player from Ghana’s third-tier league to be called up to the senior national team in November 2024 for the Africa Cup of Nations qualification matches. 

He made an immediate impact by scoring on his debut against Niger, even though the Black Stars faced a tough 2-1 defeat.

The former Thoughts FC striker attracted interest from a number of clubs but settled for AL Qadsiy who are currently third in the Saudi Professional League.

Afriyie is expected to gain international experience while on loan with CD Lugo before joining Al Qadsiya next season.
